Squidoo Modules and Plexo

by Nick on June 2, 2008

When you set up your Squidoo account, you have a lot of options for adding modules. Some of the most common modules are already ready for your input.

There is the assumption that you already know who your target market is and what you want to see. You should also have set up a list of long tail keyword phrases that will move your Squidoo page to the top of the rankings.

When you set up your lens, one of the step two choices is “I just want to do my own thing.” This choice lets you choose the modules you want. In any case, here is the rundown on the most popular modules.

Write module. This module allows you to add whatever kind of content you want. It can be articles or reviews or promotional material. You can even use HTML to include hyperlinks to your affiliate links.

Amazon module. You can link to Amazon books and products that relate to your site and make some cash from selling these books.

eBay module. eBay has millions of products and doubtless many of them are related to your topic. You can use this module display related products and get some of the profit from these sales.

RSS module. RSS gives you fresh content without any effort. Your RSS module can pull in information related to the keywords you enter.

Guest Book module. This gives your lens personal interactivity with others. They can comment on your topic, offer advice, and provide information.

Poll module. You can create an interactive poll. The advantage of this is that you will be able to get opinions from your target market.

Link module. There is a lot of power in the link module where you put in links to your own sites and affiliate sites. You can include Plexo to allow your visitors to vote on which (they think) are the best links you offer. The links then are ordered by popularity.
