Becoming a Giant Squid
Once of the great things about Squidoo is the way that it responds to the user’s needs. One of the more recent additions to Squidoo is the Giant Squid category. Squidoo’s Megan Casey says that the Giant Squids refers to the core group of Squidoo’s movers and shakers.
In describing the Giant Squid, Megan mentioned something that is very revealing about what it takes to succeed on Squidoo. She mentioned that they noticed that the best lenses were build by people who have a lot of lenses. It was out of this discovery that the idea of the Giant Squid arose.
Anyone can be a Giant Squid. All it takes 50 or more excellent lenses. Squidoo is looking for quality and content and numbers. If you already have 50 or more lenses and you have not been contacted, you can email giants@squidoo.com to see if your lenses are up to snuff for Squidoo.
New Giants are added monthly and Squidoo gets in touch with you if you qualify. While the criteria for the quality of the lenses are currently a secret, if you have done your best and have 50 plus lenses, it is well worth a request to be considered.
There are advantages to being a Giant Squid. Some of the main advantages are:
