FREE One-Way Back-Links

Introduction

My name is Nicholas Stewart and I want to share with you a fantastic way to get more traffic and how to get free one-way back-links to your own website.

This secret method is something I almost guarantee you have never heard of. Nor is it on most gurus’ radar.

Before I tell you what it is, let me take a moment and tell you what it is not

  • It is not writing articles and/or wasting hours spinning them and submitting them to a billion article directories.
  • It is not some new some method of finding/spamming high traffic blogs, educational sites, or blogs that don’t employ nofollow in their comments’ links.
  • It is not something where you end up littering the Internet with other people’s articles or other such nonsense.

Rather it’s a way for you to contribute to the online community, help others find important information, and get a free one way back-link to your site every time you do!

Sound too good to be true?

Well, it’s not!

There is a new website that was just launched in May, 2008 called Nick’s Internet Marketing News

How it works

This brand new site seeks to collect any and all news related to Internet Marketing and display it all in one convenient location.

No more subscribing to dozens of RSS feeds and trying to figure what is worth reading and what is not.

The visitors of Nick’s Internet Marketing News find Internet Marketing news articles, blog posts, and press releases and submit these urls (along with a title and brief description) to the site.

And every time a visitor submits a site they also get to include back-link to their own site.

To submit a useful Internet Marketing site and get your free one-way back-link is very simple.

Just go to the Submit a Site page:

http://www.nicksimnews.com/submit_site.php

And you’ll see the following:

Enter the url of the interesting web page you found along with the title and a brief description.

You also get to include your own site’s url and title. (See the red arrows above?)

Example

So let’s go through a brief example together.

I just found a site that I think might be useful to others:

It’s called: Making Money Online With Affiliate Marketing - Tips And Techniques and its url is:

http://getrichgeek.com/2008/02/19/making-money-online-with-affiliate…techniques/

I want to share this web page with others by submitting it to Nick’s Internet Marketing News so I go to: http://www.nicksimnews.com/submit_site.php and I fill out the form:

Notice at the bottom, where the two arrows are, I put my own url and site name!

I will get a back-link to this site.

After I have submitted everything my submission will go through a brief approval process (we want to make sure people are submitting things that are relevant to Internet Marketing).

Once the submission is approved it will show up in our system for the entire world to see:

Notice near the bottom the part that says Contributed by: Funny Photos?

Every time someone see the Making Money Online With Affiliate Marketing - Tips And Techniques that I submitted they will also see the link to my site Funny Photos.

And I could submit 10 or 20 interesting sites in a short amount of time, and get a back-link each time!

Voting for your favorites

After an item has been approved it will appear on the Newest page which displays all the most recent additions. People see ones they like and vote for them. Better submissions will naturally receive more votes.

There are links at the top that allow you to sort by Most Votes Today, Most Votes This Week, and Most Votes All Time.

How to find quality sites to submit

Some people have wondered how to find interesting sites to submit. In answer to this we have created a page called Popular Domains. You can find the link to it near the bottom of the left menu.

The Popular Domains page lists the web site domains that have had the most items submitted. Typically if a domain has had several things submitted then there is a good chance it will have good stuff in the future.

What if people try to abuse the system?

Now some of you may be thinking that you could just submit any old rubbish and get a free back-link.

But this is not the case.

There are several safeguards to protect against this:

  1. Each site submitted goes through an approval process.
  2. Approved sites are sorted by newest (which is constantly changing) or by the most votes. If you submit rubbish then it won’t get any votes and hardly anyone will see it.
  3. To the right of the Contributed by section is a Flag This link. If multiple people flag an item it will be removed.
  4. We track IP addresses and quickly block IP addresses that abuse the system.

Tips for getting the most out the system

  1. Only submit worthwhile sites. We are vigilant about people trying to abuse the system.
  2. Look for really good stuff to submit and you will get more votes. This causes it to be ranked higher and more eyeballs will see your Contributed by link.
  3. Vote for items that you like regardless of who submitted them. If you found it useful, vote for it!
  4. Encourage your friends to come vote for what you have submitted. Limit 1 vote per submission per IP address.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I vote for something more than once?
No. Only 1 vote per IP address is counted.
  • Do I have to register to submit a site to the system or to vote for a site?
No. At this time we want this to be really simple to use and not have you need to register with us. Ideally we would provide you with a valuable service and be one less site that has your name and email address on record. With that said, we may be forced to implement a registration process if we find the system being abused.
  • Can I have my friends come vote for my stuff?
Yes! Please invite your friends to come vote and hopefully submit sites too!
  • Why did you build this?
Like many people, my time is limited and I got tired of subscribing to over a dozen RSS feeds and trying to keep up to date on Internet Marketing news.Frustrated, I searched the Internet for something like this but found nothing. So I decided to use my experience in web programming and build my own.

Nick, thanks for allowing backlinks! I just tried it. I did make two entries on one site, but they are totally different (one enables you to get cash back at eBay and the other lets you spy on any eBay member). Hope that’s okay. Anyway, I really appreciate it.

All the best!
