Google AdSense Introduction

If you have a website one of the best ways to make money with your website is with Google AdSense.

Google AdSense is a dynamic advertisement system. All you do is put a tiny piece of JavaScript code on your webpage. Once the code is on the page Google will come crawl that page and determine what the page is about.

Once Google knows what the page is about they will display relevant ads. If your webpage is about Poodle Manicures then Google will show ads about things related to that (e.g. poodle or pet related ads).

If you then have a webpage on Golf Swings, you put the little snippet of JavaScript on your page. Google comes and crawls your page and displays ads related to golf.

Google gives you the snippet of code to put on your pages. Piece of cake.

It’s easy to see why so many website owners choose AdSense.

When you first look at your page with its newly added AdSense code, it is possible that your page has not been indexed yet. If this is the case you will see PSA (Public Service Announcement) Ads. You page will usually be crawled by Google within a few hours of this.

One thing you should know is Google is a little picky about your website’s content.

Among the things Google prohibits are: adult content, content about illegal activities, content on ammunition & firearms.

Google also doesn’t tolerate people clicking on their own ads or giving visitors incentive to click on your ads. This is called click fraud and they have a 0 tolerance policy.

Google prohibits disclosing “click-through rates or other statistics relating to Site performance in the Program provided to You by Google… However, You may accurately disclose the amount of Google’s gross payments to You pursuant to the Program.”
