Squidoo Cheat Sheet

One: It is great to make your Squidoo lens interesting. It is even better to make it useful. You can build all the lenses in the world but it they are full of junk, who’s going to visit them? Also, when you build a lens, you have to have at least three modules before it is published. This is to keep Squidoo free of time-wasting lenses that have nothing but a paragraph in them.

Two: Play up your bio. The whole point of being on Squidoo is to tell the world you are an expert in this topic. So tell the world. Don’t be shy. Put your photo up there. Tell people who you are. Brag. You are already on there as an expert so go ahead and let the world know that you really are an expert.

Three: Look at the tag clouds. See the words floating around. The ones that are bigger and bolder are the most popular. So use tags (keywords) wisely so that your tag will be in the cloud. Put your tag in the title of your lens, add them to the tag list on your lens. You can have up to 40 tags.

Four: Interact with your visitors. Challenge them with a hot topic, have a guestbook for their feedback and comments. Get others to link their lens to yours and link to other lenses.

Five: Keep it lively. Don’t build it and forget it. You need daily fresh content if you really want to hit the top 100 lenses. I have the RSS module and the blog module to keep fresh content pouring in.
